Speaking Out About "Girl Fights"

Violence_2 When a video of a brutal "girl fight" in Florida was posted on YouTube in April, it sparked media coverage of violence among girls and debate about whether so-called girl aggression is on the rise. Here the GFC community discusses the problem—and solutions:

national TV appearance
GFC spokesGIRLS Natasha and Rena speak out on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet about how violence impacts girls and how they were empowered to stop the violence through creating social change. (Fox stations nationwide on Friday, May 2). Watch the video clip here!

blog
Meghan Arrigo, GFC Phoenix Program Director, blogs about how women and girls at GFC are uniting to work through conflict and begin to see each other as allies rather than enemies. Read the post...

project ideas
Each year, hundreds of girls join Girl Action Teams through GFC and create and implement projects to improve their communities. Many of these projects focus on ending and preventing violence—from bullying to girl fights and gossip to gang violence, genocide, child abuse and domestic violence.
