Girls For A Change is excited to announce that the 2008-2009 annual Silicon Valley Completion Ceremony was a success! This event took place on Thursday, May 14th at Pioneer High School in San Jose. We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who helped ensure the evening ran smoothly and the girls were supported and empowered. The girls were excited to complete a great year and we have built momentum for future programming in the Bay Area.

Please join us in honoring the girls in Silicon Valley who are creating change in themselves and their future!
The Completion Ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of Girl Action Teams throughout the year. We will honor girls on our Girl Action Teams and GFC Coaches who are creating change throughout the Bay Area.
During the Completion Ceremony, school administrators, parents/guardians, community members and other GFC supporters will honor coaches and teams. We will present a slide show with photos of all teams, plus a description about the team’s project. We will also have activities and a dance performance. Family, friends andcommunity supporters are encouraged to attend.

SV: Spring Into Action - Feb. 7, 2009, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
On February 7th, 2009 our 50 local Girl Action Teams will assemble at the Cisco Systems campus for our annual Spring Into Action event. This is a fabulous day of skill-building, inspiration and connection for all of our girls and coaches. Each year we invite professional men and women from the community to facilitate workshops on skills the girls will need to plan and implement their social change projects. Past workshops have included networking, event planning, public speaking, and community organizing. Spring Into Action is planned and organized by the members of the Girls Steering Committee.

5th Annual Girl Summit
More than 1,400 and 350 women attended the 5th Annual Girl Summit hosted by GFC at the San Jose Convention Center on October 30, 2007! Throughout the day, they were inspired by speakers and performers, social change workshops, and (most importantly) each other. Change The World Breakfast
1,000s of teen girls are changing our world and you can join them through Girls For A Change! This fall, you're invited to gather with more than 400 Bay Area professionals for an inspiring breakfast program where you can meet some of the amazing local teen girls who are transforming their communities--and your world--each year through GFC.
